A new MAC® system installed at Maitree Super Thermal Power Plant (2x660 MW), Bangladesh

A new Magaldi Ash Conveyor (MAC®) has been put in operation at Maitree Super Thermal Power Project (2 x 660MW), a supercritical coal-fired thermal power plant based at Rampal, Bangladesh.
An important milestone for Bangladesh's power sector, the MAC® for Maitree is the country's first dry bottom ash handling system to be installed at any thermal power plant.

"When Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited received a 2x660 MW Maitree EPC project on a turnkey basis, we had a lot of apprehension about working philosophy, operation & maintenance issues about dry bottom ash as till that day we had only dealt with a wet bottom ash handling system.
Afterwards Magaldi Power SpA submitted their bid to BHEL for the dry BA system, we entered into the engineering stage and then execution at the site, the journey was a roller coaster but the end result was good when the system got commissioned and so far working in good condition. Congratulations to the entire Maitree Team of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited and Magaldi Power SpA!!"
stated Mr. Nitin Vikash, Senior Manager (Engineering - Mechanical) of BHEL.
