Business Development Director – Energy - U.S.A. & Canada

Magaldi Technologies, a subsidiary of Magaldi Power S.p.a., has a fantastic opportunity for a New Business Development Director – Energy.
U.S.A. & Canada that will focus on Biomass, Waste to Energy, Coal fired power plants and other auxiliary ash handling applications. In this role, the individual’s focus will be to prospect new customers while nurturing current customer relationships in order to provide engineering advice and technical solutions along with feedback to the engineering department on new product ideas and needs.  To be successful, applicants should have a good knowledge of all areas of the various plants, competitors, engineering design concepts, sales processes and business development activities. Working with experienced sales engineering support group, the candidate will guide the opportunity management to develop engineered solutions for the North American market.  This role is well suited to people who enjoy problem-solving, consultative selling, are organized, and enjoy prospecting and meeting new customers and representative management.

Responsibilities

  • Project Review and Concept - Work with new and potential customers to help develop and assess their needs in order to help the Magaldi Team design a winning solution.
  • New Customer Development – Prospect new customers and introduce them to the company and its products.
  • Build Relationships with new and existing Clients - Attend meetings with customers and support firms to create a good rapport with them to fully understand their requirements and provide accurate solutions, as well as to provide them with progress updates along the way.
  • Pipeline Management – Fill and manage projects through the opportunity pipeline in order to make and exceed established budgets.
  • Budgeting – Responsible to help develop sales targets and provide regular forecasts.
  • Industry Representation – Represent the company and industry meetings, trade shows and other functions, committees, etc. as needed.
  • Marketing – Help develop content, support to marketing team requests, identify new products needs and help develop regular competitive analysis within the market.

We require

Experience:  10+ years of sales experience in Biomass, Waste to Energy, Pulp & Paper, Coal fired power plants or other auxiliary ash handling applications
Degree Preferred:  Mechanical Engineering or similar preferred
CAD Capabilities:  Not required, but a plus. Must be able to read engineered drawings
Travel: Approximately 40-60%
Location: Nationwide
