Solutions provider for Waste-to-Energy plants
Magaldi's dry technology is gaining momentum in the WtE market as a technically and environmentally appealing option for IBA extraction and treatment.
Recognizing that a one-size-fits-all approach is rarely effective, Magaldi specializes in creating tailored solutions that meet the unique features and requirements of each WtE plant. The common thread among these solutions is their high reliability and environmentally friendly nature.
Whether you require dry ash extraction (Ecobelt® WA) or a comprehensive solution for dry IBA extraction and treatment (Magaldi Dry Ash Management - MADAM system), Magaldi has the right solution to meet your needs.

Air-Lock
The system ensures the continuous discharge of ash while maintaining effective air-tightness between the combustion furnace and the Ecobelt® WA conveyor. Integrated compartmentalization devices allow the system to be disconnected from the furnace, preventing tramp air from entering the combustion chamber and ensuring stable combustion conditions.
Metal Valorization & Refinement
The ash valorization system enables highly effective separation of non-ferrous metals from the incoming ash stream, recovering both heavy metals (silver, gold, copper, palladium, lead, etc.) and light metals, including aluminum. The process delivers high separation performance, particularly in the fine fraction down to 0.2 mm. Thanks to the dry processing route, recovered metals are not subject to oxidation, helping preserve their high quality and market value. Aluminum is further refined and purified from impurities. Both metal streams are suitable for direct sale.
Metal Recirculation & Separation
The high metal separation efficiency is achieved through a patented, fully automated recirculation system that allows the ash to pass through a single Eddy Current separation system multiple times. With each cycle, additional metals are progressively removed from the ash, maximizing metal recovery revenues while producing a cleaner, more inert IBA fraction suitable for further reuse.
