No wear, low O&M costs
The FLUIMAC system has a sturdy but simple design
which makes it extremely user-friendly and dependable. Thanks
to the superior Magaldi Superbelt technology, the FLUIMAC extractor's
operation is characterized by:
no wear, because there is no relative motion
between the belt and the ash
minimum maintenance demand: all regular activities
can be carried out with the system in operation
very low power demand: no high-power fans or motors
fully automatic operation without the need for manual operation
Dependability & safety
The Superbelt has a proven dependability, which can result in an increased boiler availability
the Superbelt can not have a sudden failure
in more than 2,800,000 hours of Superbelt operating experience in bottom ash handling with MAC systems, not a single Superbelt failure has occurred
the FLUIMAC system is absolutely safe, because all moving parts are inside the casing and no manual intervention is required during operation
No use of water
The FLUIMAC system does not use any water in the ash processing, which means that it does not suffer from any of the water-related problems of other systems:
no fresh water consumption and no waste water discharge
no need for dewatering bins, ponds and waste water treatment
no pumps, no heat exchangers, no pH-control
no corrosion, no risk of ice formation
no problems with environmental regulation regarding water pollution
Heat recovery from the ash to the boiler
The quantity of heat contained in bed ash is significant, due to generally poor fuels fired (having a high ash content).
In the FLUIMAC system, the heat from the bed ash is recovered effectively by the cooling air introduced into the FLUIMAC. This energy can be sent back into the boiler if the air leaving the FLUIMAC is joined to the secondary combustion air. In this way, a boiler efficiency increase can be obtained.
