Dear Fabio Thank you for your e-mail, enclosed is a summary as requested. The foundry had been looking for a number of months for a suitable replacement for a very unreliable slat type conveyor. The conveyor was continually breaking down and we were damaging castings throwing them into stillage bins. We were able to purchase a 12 month old Magaldi conveyor and took the opportunity to resolve some of our problems. We spoke to Magaldi engineers with our proposals. They redesigned the conveyor to suit our application, supplied the parts and supplied an engineer to assist with installation. We were given 4 days to remove the old equipment and install the Magaldi conveyor. We did complete the work and the foundry started production on time. The conveyor has run trouble free since installation. The foundry runs a 2 shift system, 18 hour days, 6 days a week. The operators are delighted with the Magaldi as they no longer have to lift any castings and even more important their bonus has increased. We have been able to reduce manning levels by 1 man each shift. Down time has decreased from 18% to 1%!!
