Magaldi offers complete ash storage silos with structural support steel and access platforms in small – medium – large storage capacity, which are specifically designed to meet our customers requirements. Design, developed by Magaldi technical department, is made in compliance with the specific Country construction codes and standards.
Some of our silos of several hundreds of cubic meters, full of materials, withstood in February 2010 with no damage the earthquake of Conception (Chile), having an 8.8 Richter scale magnitude.
Magaldi excels in the field of ash storage equipment, supplying solutions ranging from the single components to turn-key system for fly and bottom ash storage silos, from conception to installation, through engineering, manufacturing, commissioning to after sales support and facilities management.
Magaldi ash storage silos can be manufactured from concrete, normal or pre-stressed, or carbon steel (depending on capacity) to store fly ash or bottom ash until unloading for its final destination.
Magaldi ash storage silos have a simple design which makes it extremely user-friendly and dependable. The ash storage operation is characterized by:
Magaldi storage silos are fabricated to withstand the harshest environments, while perfectly fitting into the ash handling system. Magaldi ash storage systems, including fly ash silos, are manufactured from the strongest materials available and are custom-designed to be interfaced with ash conveyors, pneumatic transports and unloader systems.
An ash storage silo is typically supplied complete with:
1) Level probes, vent filter, relief door and ash collection equipment, typically mounted on the roof.
2) Supporting structure, complete of stairs, ladders, platforms, walkways and handrails, manholes, air balance valve and rupture disk, maintenance gate valve on discharge.
3) Loading operation can be based either on pneumatic or mechanical conveying systems:
4) The unloading system is typically composed of air-slides, installed at the silo bottom, to transfer ash by means of articulated arms to the telescopic spouts for truck loading. The silo is also equipped with an emergency exit, provided with a Magaldi paddle mixer to avoid dust dispersion to the environment during discharge on open trucks.
